Vintage Airstream

1955 Airstream Flying Cloud - "Arthur"
First Day Home

Below are the pictures from 9/7/08, the day I picked up the trailer. As you can see, it's a real mess. Sitting in the woods for several years gave it a good layer of crud on the outside. Giving it a good wash made a huge difference. I'm very pleased with the straightness of the skin. It has very few blemishes and the end caps are especially great. (even if you don't like the whale tail, Steve!)

I was actually surprised at how well it towed. Yes, I know it's an Airstream, but it's bigger than the Bambi I am used to towing. It easily towed as well as the Bambi and it didn't even have brakes on the way home (I had to cut the brake wires because the old wiring had them locked up).
