U2 Vertigo Tour, October 3rd and 4th, 2005
TD Banknorth Garden, Boston, MA

The following shots were taken from Section LOGE 21, Row 4.

If we had been in a closer row, the seats would have been worse. If you are not on the floor at a U2 show, these are the best seats you can get. They are exactly at the widest part of the ellipse, meaning you are as close as you can get without being on the floor.

As you can see from the shots above, we had an amazing experience at the show. We waited outside the arena for the band on the 3rd, but they arrived late and did not stop as they drove in. Our plan on the 4th was to do the same thing. We knew they were staying in town, so they likely would not be late. They also didn't need to do a sound check because it was the second night. After about two hours of waiting, it all paid off.

Larry's car pulled in first. We didn't see him again until the concert started.

Adam's car pulled in. About ten minutes later, his car backed out. And he was in it. He got out and greeted everyone in the crowd (there were about 50 of us). The redhead in the picture below is my wife Amy. She was so stunned, she forgot how to smile.

Next, Edge's car pulled in. Then it backed out. No Edge. Then the door opened and Edge just walked out. Like Adam, he was very gracious and signed autographs and talked with everyone.

Just one left. We waited. And then it happened. Bono's SUV pulled in and stopped. He got out and spent a considerable amount of time meeting and greeting all his fans. Of course, my wife, Amy, is his biggest fan. When she met him, she forgot how to talk. She was clearly stunned in the photo with Bono. All in all, it was a truly awesome experience.

These last eight shots were taken on October 4th, 2005 from from the front row of the balcony. The seats weren't great, but it was nice to get a different perspective. I would never choose these seats if I had a choice. It didn't really matter that the seats were lousy since we got to meet the band before the show.
