Nash Metropolitans

I have wanted a Nash Metropolitan since I was in high school. Having purchased my motorcycle back in October of 2005, I knew that any new toys were strictly out of the question for quite a while. On April 22, 2006, I received a phone call from a man named Paul who found me in the Metropolitan Owner's Club directory. He had a '57 Met for sale. I kindly declined, knowing my wife, Amy, would not be pleased if I came begging for yet another toy. After the call, Amy asked me what it was all about. When I told her about the car, she said, "What are you going to do?" I said, "Nothing. I declined." I thought she would be pleased. Instead, she said, "If you sell your bike, you can buy that car." What to do? I gave it quite a bit of thought, and decided to go see the car. We fell in love right away and made an offer on the car. I sold my bike on ebay and picked up the car a week later.

Well, we had a lot of fun and interesting times in Minnie, but we decided to move on due to lack of adequate storage. She now lives near Atlanta.

Here she is shortly after getting her home.

The blue is not original, but looks good. Someday, we'll take it back to the original colors of yellow and white.

The pictues below are from the Micro and Mini car show on 7/10/04 at the Larz Anderson auto museum (www.mot.org) in Brookline, MA. This show was part of a larger three-day event hosted by Chuck and Nancy Gould called the Micro and Mini Car Classic (www.bubbledrome.com).

This is a great yellow and white convertible.

This 1957 Met has an earlier model hood. Only Met geeks would notice this. I did.
Jim and Margie's Met
This is a great looking car in a great color.

How can you not love this?
Jim and Margie's Met
When I asked Jim for a ride, he told me to drive! It was my first ride ever in a Met and I was in the driver's seat.

This was really a blast. Thanks Jim!
