Micro cars and Mini cars

I really have a soft spot for these adorable little vehicles. Although I don't currently own any (a recurring theme, unfortunately), here are some of my favorites.

This collection of photos was taken on 7/10/04 at the Micro and Mini car show at the Larz Anderson Museum in Brookline, MA. This show was part of a larger three-day event hosted by Chuck and Nancy Gould called the Micro and Mini Car Classic (www.bubbledrome.com). I hoped to be driving a micro or mini to the 2005 event, but that didn't happen. I can't complain. I bought a "new" Airstream Bambi and a Honda VFR motorcycle in 2005. Life is good.

There were five Nash Metropolitans in attendance at the show. I have included pictures of those cars on my Metropolitan page.

The Isetta was designed by a refrigerator company. Like a fridge, it has only one door and it's right on the front. All Isettas had a sunroof. It was the escape hatch, in case of a front end collision.

The closest thing to flying. This little guy is a Messerschmitt. Yeah, the same Messerschmitt as the planes.

I think this little Goggomobil Dart is awesome. I wish I could have gotten a ride.

That's our Land Rover Freelander next to the Vespa. That gives you and idea of just how small this car really is.
